In 1993, when there was little help for AIDS patients, Rita Price started a program recruiting volunteers to make afghans for those afflicted with this dread disease. To date, 8,500 blankets have been delivered to hospitals, hospices and nursing homes.
We have recently expanded the program to include hospitalized veterans and children undergoing chemotherapy. Afghans for adults need to be 40 inches square and afghans for children need be 34 inches square.
ATTENTION: Needed are knitters and crocheters to make these afghans.
Alsoneeded: any worsted weight yarn (whole and/or started skeins). Contact leader 1- for instructions, 2- if you need yarn and 3- where (and when) to bring completed afghans.
Use your imagination and talents to make afghans that provide warmth and cheer.
