One of the wonderful things about being part of our organization is the opportunity to continue learning. Our study groups are a perfect example of that. Learning doesn't stop when our formal education does. Some of the most enjoyable learning can take place when we are simply curious and explore subjects with others.
Our study groups offer that opportunity. It doesn't matter whether the subject is current events, art, theater, books - both classics and current, knitting, crocheting or just going back in time which is very often the case in Yiddishkeit. We learn, share ideas and in the process have some laughs. Occasionally we even agree to disagree!
There is another benefit to consider; learnng makes us more interesting as a person. The more we know the more we can contribute to a conversation. I believe that staying curious keeps us young in spirit.
If you have never joined one of our study groups, give it a try. You don't have to be an expert. You don't have to have read the books. As a matter of fact, you can just listen. Just bring your curiosity. As I loosely quote something I head Dolly Parton say:
"AN INTERESTED WOMAN IS AN INTERESTING PERSON!"
