Donations and More
MWI does not solicit funds by mail, nor do we make appeals. However, we are happy to accept donations in the following forms:
CARE CARDS - If you wish to send a greeting card to anyone, for any occasion, be it happy or sad, attractive cards are always available. For $5.00, Social Secretary Carol Fine will hand write your message, sign your name and then address and mail the cards. It's easier and more personal than a store card and doesn't cost much more. Also, your name will appear in the next bulletin, along with the message you wish to convey.
DONATIONS - If you would like to make a donation to MWI, in honor or memory of someone, in any amount (minimum of $18.00) contact Donations Chair Estelle Barton and she will send a letter to the recipient stating that you have made a donation to MWI in his or her name (the amount of the donation will not appear).
The cost of an $18.00 donation can be split between no more than two people. (For this purpose, a husband and wife count as one donor.) If three or more people wish to make a donation, the minimum cost will be $10.00 per donor. Only one letter of acknowledgement, stating the amount of the donation, which can be used for tax pruposes, will be sent. This letter will be sent to the individual who sends the money and the information.
The following are also available:
CERTIFICATES OF APPRECIATION - These are only awarded to those people, usually authors or speakers, who have addressed us at a luncheon or study group without receiving payment. They are free of charge, but must be approved prior to being presented. They can be requested by study group leaders or event chairs, and will be appropriately inscribed. Arleen Smith is in charge of certificates.
NOTES - These are sent by Social Secretary Mildred Becker on behalf of MWI.
If you know of a member who is celebrating an occasion, welcoming a grandchild, undergoing an illness, etc., please let Mildred know and a handwritten note will be sent.
Again, these are from the organization and not from an individual. Therefore, there is no charge for our sending a note and listing the names of the recipients in the bulletin.
