We are a small sketching group and welcome beginners and advanced artists to join us.
Each meeting begins with servings of cake, cookies, cheese/crackers, tea and coffee. Laughter and conversations on art and current events continue for one half hour. Then a short sketching lesson is given by the leader. The topic may be shading, composition, or perspective, etc. Then grab your pad and pencils and start to sketch the objects on display: a bouquet of red roses, a bowl of fruit or multi-shaped seashells. Conversations on varied subjects continue while sketching. Near the end of the meeting, each person's art is shown to the group and comments are made (always positive.)
Also delightful is outdoor (plein air) sketching of flowers and trees in the spring and fall, at Planting Fields and nearby parks. Local museum visits are also scheduled.
We meet in a member's house on the second Tuesday of each month (except July and August) from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
