Farshtate! (Understand!)

Yiddish, a language of the Eastern European Jews, has been lost to the Jews of today. This study group brings this rich language to life again, as well as other cultural topics intrinsic to Jewish life.  The group comprises women who are a mixture of those who have been exposed to Yiddish and others who have an interest, and all who want to remember and talk about our Jewish way of life. We meet the second Monday of the month.

We recall Jewish expressions and customs, some of which bring you back to your childhood. We also bring the Jewish culture of the different holidays and daily life to light in English and Yiddish.

A highlight of the year is the Chanukah party replete with entertainment and traditional food.
